We designed and had our house built on a point on the Elk River, which is five miles upstream from where the Elk flows into the Tennessee River. This is part of Wheeler Reservoir and is approximately ten river miles from the dam, so there is no danger of flooding. At our house the river is over a half mile wide. There is 250+ feet of water frontage with a concrete sea wall and two docks for fishing, boat storage, or entertaining your friends. The bass fishing is excellent from either dock or from a boat. There is a detached brick garage/shop and a covered concrete pad for your RV. Our house has a large Kitchen open to the Great Room and Breakfast Room. It has a large Sub Zero refrigerator, double oven, island with the electric cook surface and bar sink, built-in icemaker, dish washer, microwave, and compactor. The view from the Breakfast Room is something to behold, especially if you like bird watching or just watching the boat traffic.
