Beautiful Home & Area
This beautiful home is nestled among dense tall evergreen trees on the outskirts of historic Idaho City. It uses the city water and sewer, is located 2 blocks from the school, yet has an out-of-town feel and appearance. It is located on a quiet dead-end road, with mostly distant neighbors. The neighbors and town are friendly and take pride in the area, its abundant history and breathtaking scenery. A pine tree scent permeates the cool crisp mountain air and is often 10 degrees cooler than the Boise area. The folks living in this area enjoy a feeling of security protected in the mountains, with friendly neighbors and a low crime rate.
All-Season Activities
If you like outdoor sports this location is 7th heaven. As mentioned on the Chamber of Commerce web site, www.idahocitychamber.com Hikers will enjoy the many trails which allow glimpses of the abundant flora and fauna. Equestrian trails present breathtaking vistas. Fishing, particularly for rainbow and brook trout, is especially good. There are ideal spots for camping and picnicking everywhere.
Fall and winter present the area in an entirely different light and permit a wide new range of activities: Hunters will find such quarry as elk, deer, and blue grouse plentiful. Snow blankets the Basin by Thanksgiving, signaling the start of winter sports. Just outside Idaho City are 15 cross-country trails criss-crossing the Basin. Skiers from novice to expert will have a field day. Nor are snowmobilers forgotten -- they can roam more than 150 miles of Forest Service roads. Snow campers and snowshoers will look forward to winter, too.
